Dental Surgery Assistant is an important allied health personnel in the oral health team, and undoubtedly takes on significant responsibility as a member. With advancements in knowledge and technology in the area of treatment techniques, instrumentations and materials, dental education has been faced with the challenge of maintaining quality within the profession.

• To assist the dentist during all treatment procedures.
• To check patient’s medical and dental history is up to date.
• To provide patients with instructions for oral care following treatment.
• To dispense medications as prescribed by dentist.
• To perform routine care and maintenance of dental equipment and instruments and ensure all facilities in the clinic are in good condition.
• To make appointments for patients and send out reminders for re-examinations.
• To keep records of all instruments and medications dispensed.
• To assist in maintaining and re-stock dental supplies and inventory.
• To keep files on attendance list and patients’ records.
• To chart and update patients records in the computer and assist the academic staff in the completion of records.
• To perform any other duties as and when assigned.

• Must possess at least a Diploma in relevant field.
• Have at least 1 to 2 years working experience in dental area.
• Speaks reasonably well in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Hands on experience in providing support and assistant to dentists.
